I have had a great deal of fun with co-op games in the past few years, with highlights being the Covert Ops stuff in Call of Duty, the Gears of War series in campaign, and most recently with Saints Row: The Third.

When it comes down to it, I find that I would rather play a game that way than just about any other, so my lazyweb request for today:

Recommend to me an Xbox 360 game that has an amazing co-op experience.

Guidelines:

  • Not a Gears, Halo, or CoD title.
  • Not being a first-person shooter makes it better in my eyes but not required.
  • Has to be for Xbox 360.
  • Can’t be 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand (already covered and because it’s too awesome for mortal man).

I am currently looking for a solution to back up my photos and other important files somewhere off site. I am already working on a good solution for here at home but would like a solid recommendation for a service that gives me an option in case that backup somehow fails or if the house burns down or something similar.

Points to consider for me:

  • Please have used it if you’re going to recommend it. :)
  • Pricing isn’t everything, but it’s something.
  • It needs to be easy to use and somewhat fire-and-forget. I need to trust that’s it’s got my back without needing to look over my shoulder.
  • I’d prefer a recommendation for a company that has at least some confidence level in that they will be around for a while. I don’t want to have to switch unless I have to.

Comments are GO.

I’ve been using Thunderbird for a very long time. I love it. It’s one of my best friends, and it helps me get things done.

However, it doesn’t support some of the flashier stuff in OS X Lion and I would like to try and find an email client that’s more likely to. So I need your help in selecting a replacement. To aid you in giving me advice, here’s how I work with email and what features I certainly need in a new app:

  • It must support bottom-posting by default. By this, I mean when I hit “Reply,” my cursor is placed, ready for bottom posting. (This is what has ruled out Mail.app in the past for me.)
  • It must be able to send plain text emails without me having to fuss with anything. I want to be able to set one option and then not have to change anything ever again.
  • It needs good search.
  • It needs to be able to show me emails in a conversation view. Threaded would be awesome.
  • It needs to be able to search within Thunderbird-created archive folders (or at least make it easy for me to understand how it archives).
  • It needs to either already support or be likely to support Lion stuff in the future, such as full-screen use.

So here’s how I work with email: I run through my messages with a preview pane open, with one finger on the “delete” key and one finger on the “archive” key. If it’s an email I need to reference later, I archive it. (I don’t use folders. Everything goes into one archive and then I use search to find it if I need it later.)

If I’m not likely to need the information again, or if I can get the information from other sources, I will simply delete the email.

If an email needs a response, I reply to it right away using key shortcuts, then I archive it immediately. Once I’ve relayed the required information, it’s out of my inbox and out of my mind.

So that’s how I use email—any suggestions for a new client? I’m interested to hear what you have to say in the comments.

I Tweeted about this previously, but as Twitter sucks for having actual conversations (especially when you don’t have a desktop client running), I thought I’d re-do this as a blog post and encourage you to comment.

Here’s what I’m looking for:

  • Has to be for Mac OS.
  • Can’t use AIR.
  • Can’t use Java.
  • Can’t be ugly.

If you have or know a Twitter client that falls under these restrictions, please suggest it below. What I’ll do is find a night where I try all of them and I’ll post my reactions to them in a fuller blog post.

I’m not liking the strap that came with my Rebel T2i, so I’m looking for an aftermarket solution. (It’s a little itchy and not really long enough.) Does anyone have any suggestions? I would prefer something that goes over neck and shoulder, and that allows me to quickdraw for pictures.
