What I’m Playing: Mass Effect

Mass Effect is a game that’s been on my “want to play” list for some time now, and I was able to snag it on the cheap now that it’s older. The teaser for its sequel has been released, and I’d heard a lot of good things about it, so I’m excited to be getting around to it.

(Trailer for the game is placed behind the cut, as it’s M-rated. There’s nothing objectionable in the trailer other than a little bit of sci-fi violence.)

(This is the PC release trailer. I picked it over the Xbox 360 one because it has more story junk in it.)

I’m a sucker for good sci-fi, and I always like unique approaches, so this promises to be interesting. It’s not something I’m familiar with, so I’m interested to see how it plays out. I’ve liked some BioWare stuff in the past, but I have to admit that I never finished Knights of the Old Republic.

In addition, I’ve had the soundtrack to Mass Effect for some time, and it’s very 80’s sci-fi kitsch. It’s heavily synthesized and very stylistic.
