I Have Witnessed a Revolution in Even My Short Lifetime

When I was a kid, I grew up with games that looked like this:

(This was even very popular with our dorm floor when I was in college. It’s hard to beat RBI Baseball.)

Now, let’s take a look and see what baseball looks like in game format now:

Personally, I think that looks incredible. There’s a very nice review of MLB ’09 The Show here on Crispy Gamer. The only problem I have with baseball games recently is that they are just too complicated to control. There’s too much going on at once; it’s strange. The baseball game I much prefer is MLB Power Pros.

(I silence the play-by-play in that game, but I think the above video gives you a good clue as to the approachability of the series.)

I love that game, and I love people who love that game. What a fun bunch.
